Microsoft fired, CIO Stuart L. Scott

Now, if you search any news about the Microsoft in Google news search, you will see that Microsoft has fired its Chief Information Officer (CIO) Stuart Scott, for violation of company policies beside others news. But the officials did not agree to provide more information about it.

The incident was occurred on Tuesday. By reading an official statement, Microsoft spokesman said that “Stuart Scott’s employment with Microsoft was terminated after an investigation for violation of company policies,”

According to Microsoft website, Stuart Scott joined Microsoft in 2005 as Chief Information Officer (CIO) and was in charge for the information technology infrastructure at the world's largest software maker.

Under Scott’s leadership, Microsoft IT is responsible for security, infrastructure, messaging and business applications for all of Microsoft, including support of Microsoft product groups, corporate business groups, and the global sales and marketing organization.

Stuart Scott’s employment at Microsoft ended in early November 2007.

Before joining Microsoft in 2005, Stuart Scoot worked for 17 years in various roles at General Electric. He was acknowledged by CIO Magazine as one of the top 100 CIOs in 2003.

He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering, mathematics, and computer science from the University of Louisville, as well as an MBA from Vanderbilt University. He is a Six Sigma black belt and a graduate of GE’s Leadership Development Program.

He reported to Kevin Turner, Microsoft's chief operating officer, who in turn reports directly to Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer.

Yes, the company has right to fire any employee if they terminate the rule. As Microsoft may the largest company in the world and the official is not telling anything clearly about his dismiss, for it has become huge media coverage.
