Kanye Omari West’s Mom Donda West died

Kanye Omari West is an American Superstar. He was born in a upper middle class family. His father, Ray West was one of the black photojournalist at that time and his mother Donda West, a retired English professor at Chicago State University. West's mother Donda West passed away in a Los Angeles hospital at the weekend.

Kanye Omari West heard the news about her mother during his show at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York last night (November 11) the rapper asked for a moment of silence to pay respect to Donda West. According to People he said: "Let's get serious for a minute. This show is dedicated to Kanye West who had a death in the family. We got you, Kanye, stay strong."

Donda West died on Saturday night in Los Angeles.

No additional details were released, but publicist Patricia Green confirmed the death “as the result of complications from a cosmetic surgical procedure.”

Although Dr. Donda West is mostly known for being the mother of Kanye West but she was an accomplished scholar and a college professor for 31 years.

She was very friendly with her son Kanye Omari West and helped him in every steps.

She was known for the strong bond she shared with her son, and was often at his side at parties and awards shows. She raised her son alone after her husband left when Kanye West was 3.
